Welcome to Next Steps Together (NeST)
We’re reshaping community wellbeing, together.
We support anyone facing emotional, sensory or cognitive challenges in life - especially people living with dementia, neurodivergent adults and young people, and family members of all ages navigating caring roles. Our approach is rooted in community and shaped by both professional and lived experience. We take time to listen, adapt what we offer, and respond to what matters most to the people and communities we serve.
From dementia and neurodivergence support to counselling, creative and social groups, wellbeing therapies and intergenerational activities, everything we do is about creating meaningful connection and shared purpose. Whether you’re seeking emotional support, practical guidance, or simply a space to feel part of your community, you’ll find a warm welcome at NeST.
The Values Behind our Name

How We Support You
Our services help reshape community wellbeing through three core strands: Dementia Together, Wellbeing Together and Generations Together.
- Dementia Together offers tailored support for people living with dementia and their families.
- Wellbeing Together provides emotional, physical and social support for people of all ages.
- Generations Together brings people together through inclusive activities that build meaningful connection across age, identity and experience.
We also offer bookable spaces for local organisations, professionals and residents to host their own services, meetings or events.
At the heart of our dementia work is the NeST Meeting Centre – the first of its kind in Devon, launching in early 2026.
Based on a proven, evidence-informed model of community dementia support developed in the Netherlands over 30 years ago, the Meeting Centre provides a welcoming, structured space where people living with dementia and their families access emotional, social and practical support.
Uniquely, our Meeting Centre will include intergenerational activities as a regular part of its programme - reflecting our commitment to inclusive, age-spanning community wellbeing.
Alongside the Meeting Centre, we offer counselling, wellbeing sessions and inclusive group activities open to older adults, people living with dementia, neurodivergent adults and young people, and family carers.
Our support is neurodiverse-aware, dementia-inclusive and rooted in community - reflecting NeST’s wider focus on reshaping community wellbeing, together. While our current offer for neurodivergent people is embedded within our intergenerational services, we are developing a dedicated SEND Together strand, shaped by lived experience and evolving local priorities around special educational needs.
How You Support Us
NeST is a not-for-profit organisation sustained through a mix of grant funding, room hire, paid-for services, and the generosity of those who believe in what we do. We keep our costs as low as possible - often subsidised through fundraising and donations - so that everyone can access the support and activities they need.
Our community plays a vital role in helping us continue redefining community wellbeing, together. Some people give their time or expertise as volunteers, others make a donation when they can, and a few choose to leave a gift in their will. Every contribution - large or small, even a small percentage left as part of a legacy - helps us reach more people and build a more inclusive, connected future.
