Welcome to Next Steps Together (NeST)
We offer community-based support that promotes wellbeing and connection through activities, workshops and services for people at different stages of life.
While our work is inclusive and open to all ages, we also provide dedicated support for people living with dementia, those who are neurodivergent (including autism and ADHD), and their family carers.
How We Support You
Our work is delivered through three core strands:
Each offers a different type of support, but they are designed to work alongside one another, so people can take part in ways that suit their needs, interests and stage of life.
Many people engage with more than one strand, and our activities often bring people together across age groups and experiences.
This joined-up approach to wellbeing, creates an inclusive environment that helps strengthen connections within and across generations.
It creates opportunities to build meaningful relationships within the wider community, where people can learn together, share life experiences and skills, and develop a better understanding of each other.
Our approach is shaped by the experiences and voices of the people we support. We listen to feedback and involve people in shaping what we do, so that our activities reflect real needs and priorities.
It is neurodiverse-aware and dementia-inclusive, reflecting the needs of people living with special educational needs, cognitive change and social isolation in rural communities.
Our vision is to reshape wellbeing within our rural and coastal community, across all ages and stages of life, together.
We also offer a range of bookable spaces at our Tumbly Hill venue in Kingsbridge for individuals, organisations and community groups to run their own activities, meetings or events.
Counselling and therapy rooms provide calm, confidential spaces for one-to-one support, while our larger rooms can be used for group sessions, workshops and creative or social activities.

What Matters to Us
Next Steps Together is shaped by four core values: Educate, Engage, Enrich, Empower.
These values are reflected in our name and embedded in how we work with people, including clients, families, volunteers, staff and partners. They underpin our belief in listening to people, valuing their experiences, and involving them in shaping the support they receive.
We share knowledge that builds understanding and confidence, helping people learn about dementia, neurodivergence and wellbeing.

Your Support Makes a Difference
NeST is a not-for-profit organisation sustained through a mix of grant funding, room hire, paid-for services and the generosity of those who believe in what we do. We keep our costs as low as possible, often supported through fundraising and donations, so that people can access the activities and support they need.
Our community plays a vital role in helping NeST grow and reach more people. Some people give their time or expertise as volunteers, others make a donation when they can, and some choose to leave a gift in their will.
Every contribution, however small, helps us build a more inclusive, connected community and continue developing the support we offer, together.
